Responsive Repairs

Our dedicated specialist team delivers responsive repairs and planned maintenance to the highest standards for councils, housing associations, registered social landlords, the NHS and the MoD

More than 30 years’ experience in responsive repairs and maintenance.

Jeakins Weir entered the responsive repair and maintenance market in 1980, initially working on military bases in the East Midlands. Today, we have a special division dedicated to carrying out responsive repairs and planned maintenance work for councils, housing associations, registered social landlords, the NHS and the MoD.

We directly employ teams of multi-skilled operatives, including electricians, carpenters, painters, general builders, gas engineers and plumbers to carry out our repair contracts. These specialists provide a fast, efficient and friendly service for residents whenever their homes need repairs or maintenance – whether it’s an emergency requiring a rapid response or routine property maintenance work.

We currently have long-term contracts with housing associations and councils in and around the region, covering around 20,000 homes.

We also invest in supporting local community initiatives, and we have training schemes for apprentices across all of our sites.

Over the past several years we have sponsored the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Central Bedfordshire Council Cheering Volunteering Awards. We work with colleges to develop their trade courses and to offer work experience for apprentices as well as school pupils. We also encourage our staff to carry out voluntary work in the communities we serve.

Responsive repairs completed to agreed performance levels

Fast, professional, friendly service for residents

Multi-skilled team providing full maintenance capabilities

Long-term contracts with councils and housing associations

Advanced IT systems for simple, efficient contract management

Jeakins Weir delivered one of the best performing repairs contracts Savills have acted on. Their Victory Housing contract improved year on year until by year 7, they were delivering performance that matched and, in some cases, exceeded Housemark benchmarks.

I have found Jeakins Weir to be a willing and competent Repairs & Voids contractor with a sound understanding of partnering and collaborative working. They operated both open book contacts in a spirit of trust and mutual understanding that saw significant savings delivered from the first years of the contracts.

In my opinion, Jeakins Weir are a professional organisation who specialise in social housing responsive repairs and voids refurbishment. Their experience and competence rank them as one of the better contractors in this market and I have no hesitation in recommending them.

Achieving excellence with advanced technology

Our advanced management and IT systems enable us to monitor all works orders, requests and calls. These systems ensure that we carry out repairs within agreed timescales, to the highest standards and with minimal disturbance to residents. We can work to a paperless system, with direct connections to our client’s IT systems and to handheld mobile devices for our operatives.

We have successfully entered into partnering agreements with a number of clients, including Open Book accounting models. We can provide key performance indicators (KPIs) on our operations, including appointment details, quality inspections, customer satisfaction and completion reports.
