Our dedicated specialist team delivers responsive repairs and planned maintenance to the highest standards for councils, housing associations, registered social landlords, the NHS and the MoD
Jeakins Weir entered the responsive repair and maintenance market in 1980, initially working on military bases in the East Midlands. Today, we have a special division dedicated to carrying out responsive repairs and planned maintenance work for councils, housing associations, registered social landlords, the NHS and the MoD.
We directly employ teams of multi-skilled operatives, including electricians, carpenters, painters, general builders, gas engineers and plumbers to carry out our repair contracts. These specialists provide a fast, efficient and friendly service for residents whenever their homes need repairs or maintenance – whether it’s an emergency requiring a rapid response or routine property maintenance work.
We currently have long-term contracts with housing associations and councils in and around the region, covering around 20,000 homes.
We also invest in supporting local community initiatives, and we have training schemes for apprentices across all of our sites.
Over the past several years we have sponsored the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Central Bedfordshire Council Cheering Volunteering Awards. We work with colleges to develop their trade courses and to offer work experience for apprentices as well as school pupils. We also encourage our staff to carry out voluntary work in the communities we serve.

Our advanced management and IT systems enable us to monitor all works orders, requests and calls. These systems ensure that we carry out repairs within agreed timescales, to the highest standards and with minimal disturbance to residents. We can work to a paperless system, with direct connections to our client’s IT systems and to handheld mobile devices for our operatives.
We have successfully entered into partnering agreements with a number of clients, including Open Book accounting models. We can provide key performance indicators (KPIs) on our operations, including appointment details, quality inspections, customer satisfaction and completion reports.
