This was the first of around £10m of work we carried out at the King’s School in Peterborough. The site was adjacent to the existing school and access was very limited on this inner city location. The works comprised the demolition of 3 sides existing buildings, leaving and propping the remaining side to form a boundary wall.
Access was the main technical aspect of the site and the work sequence was determined by the access to the rear of the site.
Access onto the site was also tight and resulted in all deliveries being on rigid lorries.
Liaison with the neighbouring houses and developing a good working relationship with them was another key factor. The success of this project and the good working relationship we developed with the school gave them the confidence to place further orders with us for their major capital works programme over the next few years.
